About Us

Breakthru Church is a lively and friendly church, full of people who love God with a passion. If you come to visit us on a Sunday morning you will find a warm welcome waiting for you, regardless of who you are or what your background is. We endeavour to accept all kinds of people simply because God made us all, He loves us all and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for us all.

We are not a ‘traditional’ church in style, so you will find that our worship is contemporary and enthusiastic. We have a great worship team, including keyboard, drums, guitar and bass, and they really help us to express our love for God each week. We do our very best to base our entire ministry, our lifestyle, and everything that we do on what is written in the Bible, and to help us do that we ensure that strong Biblical teaching is brought as a part of our service each week. God’s Word as contained in the Bible is the most powerful guide for life ever written, and always will be. Therefore, we endeavour to show folks each week how it can be applied with good effect today to help us be the best that we can be.

Apart from Sunday mornings we have many activities going on that are designed to enable each person to become a fully integrated member of the church family. Every person is important to us, from the youngest to the oldest, and it is our aim for each one to feel included. Even so, it is up to each individual to decide for themselves how involved they want to be. We provide a diversity of opportunities for involvement for folks to take advantage of ... or not! There is no pressure.

Ultimately, in all of our activities, it is our highest goal and our greatest joy to be able to introduce people to Jesus. He came to save us from our sins and to give us eternal life. To receive that life we need to believe in Him, turn our back on sin, and commit to follow Jesus by living the way He wants us to. This is no small thing, since the Bible tells us that sin cuts us off from God so that we are destined to spend an eternity of torment in hell if the problem of sin is not dealt with in our lives. God does not desire for anyone to suffer in that way which is why He paid the very highest price, His own Son, to open up the way for us to be reconciled to Him. At Breakthru Church we view ourselves as God’s ambassador’s, bringing this ‘good news’ to as many people as we possibly can.

Finally, while we are proud to belong to our church, we acknowledge that all glory belongs to God. Any good thing that we have the privilege to do is a direct result of His love for us. In that knowledge we take no glory for ourselves but give it all to Him. Our reason for being, our purpose, is summarised below, as is our vision for what we want to be. We are here to bring glory to God in everything we do, to explain the good news about Jesus to as many as we can, and to provide a non-threatening environment where people can grow in their relationship with God.

We aim to create a church which continually seeks to find practical ways to help people, regardless of their background, and to regularly see lives being transformed as we introduce them to Jesus.
