In Matthew 8 there is an account where Jesus and the disciples are in a boat in a violent storm. The disciples are terrified that they will drown, but Jesus is asleep and completely at peace. It is a life experience in trusting God. We too need to learn how to keep our peace in the storms of life.
Jesus said 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near'. One of the ways that He demonstrated this was by healing the sick. There is no sickness that He cannot heal, and through the power of the Holy Spirit in us today He still heals the sick. Believe for it. Pray for it. God heals!
In Joshua 3 God said to the Israelites that they should consecrate themselves because tomorrow He would do great things. The same applies to us to day. Let's consecrate ourselves and we will see great things!
'Jesus wept' (John 11:35) is the shortest verse in the Bible, and yet it is a verse that conveys to us the humanity of Jesus. This sermon explores this, in the context of the event where it occurred - the raising of Lazarus.
In Matthew 7 Jesus talked about asking, seeking and knocking. The characteristic here is that he is placing the initiative on us. We must ask, we must seek and we must knock if we want to see God moving in our lives.
In Matthew 6 Jesus said that we are not to judge, but this must be balanced against other statements that He made, and Scriptures in the epistles of the New Testament. This sermon investigates what Jesus meant.
This sermon looks at what Jesus meant when he taught his disciples 'How to pray'. His framework for prayer is now called 'The Lords prayer', and when it is properly understood and applied it results in a powerful and effective method for private prayer.
